Due to COVID-19 we have carried out a Risk assessment and to protect our guests & ourselves the following changes have been made for Caisteal Liath Chalets and Cottage.


A full risk assessment has been undertaken & additional steps in the cleaning and making up of the properties between each guest are detailed below.

Door handles and keys will be disinfected with a virucidal disinfectant prior to arrival of each new guest.

Glasses, crockery, cutlery, etc. will be dish-washed prior to the arrival of each new guest.

Floors and soft furnishings will have been cleaned, steamed and disinfected

Light switches, shelves & furniture etc. will have been cleaned and disinfected.

All bedding, towels, cleaning cloths and tea-towels will be laundered at a minimum of 60 degrees.

Duvets, pillows and matrass protectors will be removed and new ones put in.

Books, games, puzzles, cards etc. have been removed

All unnecessary items (e.g. ornaments/vases/pictures/lamps) have been removed to facilitate cleaning and to also make sure that no surfaces are missed.

All soft furnishings such as cushions and bed runners have been removed

All food products such as salt/pepper/coffee/tea/sugar/milk is no longer provided


In order to help us with our new cleaning protocols that are now needed between changeovers, we ask if guests could do the following:_


  • In order to maintain social distancing the property will be open for your arrival and the keys left either in the safe box provided or inside the property itself. Contact details should you require any assistance can be found inside the property.
  • Hot water and sanitising soap are provided in each property for you to wash your hands.
  • Cleaning materials are also provided in order to keep the property clean and disinfected.


Should you arrive at our property with symptoms of COVID-19 you will be advised to return home (where possible) and/or self-isolate in accordance with current Government guidance.

  • If you have acute breathing difficulties call 999.
  • If you develop symptoms during your stay you must declare it immediately so that we can inform you of the next steps to be taken.


Upon leaving the property

  • Guests are kindly requested to strip beds including top mattress protector & place in a fabric bag provided and tied up.
  • Used towels and bathmats will need to be placed in a black bin liner.
  • Please fold up and place all duvets and pillows into the black bin bags provided.
  • All waste materials or unused food items need to be bagged and put into the outside bin.
  • Windows should be opened wherever possible on departure to air the property.
