Just to thank you so much for a wonderful stay at Caisteal Liath House. We enjoyed the cosy house and were so grateful for your warm welcome with mince pies and bubbly and the lovely fairy lights and Christmas tree in the living room- this certainly will be a Christmas to remember very fondly.
You live in such a beautiful area which we have very much enjoyed exploring; certainly still lots to see – we hope we can come back!

Strathan Chalet is the perfect place as a base to explore Lochinver and surrounding area. A beautiful well maintained, well stocked, and luxurious chalet. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the veranda, admiring the views over the lake and the many herons that frequent the waters.
Would recommend a walk from Stoer lighthouse to the Old Man of Stoer. Breathtaking views on a fine day. Also the beaches near Achnahaird and Achmelvich, the latter has an enjoyable coastal walk.
Would love to return someday.

Dear Sue & John,
We had a really great time and thanks for the use of the sun loungers.
Climbed Suilven, Quinag, Cul Beag, Cul Mhor, Ben More Assynt and Conival ( both walked on 2 seperate days) , Glas Bhein, Braebag and assorted other walks such as Eas Coull Aullin waterfall, Culag woods, the local river loop, Ardroe and Achmelvich over the back hill, bone caves and Clachtoll beach.
All the walks provided many varied wildlife sightings and the occassional excellent view of a Tornado pilot.
Meals at the Caberfeidh restaurant were good as were the meals at Kylesku hotel.
It was nice to see the deer in the garden but probably not so from your point of view, as it was munching you're beech hedge.
Accomodation was very good with nice views over the sea allowing us to observe a wide variety of boats coming into the harbour.
Every where we went the folk we met were very friendly. Very much hope to see you again.

We found the accommodation excellent in cleanliness and with a full array of utilities & equipment.
With the beautiful backdrop of location it was one of the most peacefull holiday's we have ever had, we will have no hestation in returning again in the future.

Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our holiday in the Strathan chalet(despite my wifes unfortunate accident). The doctor prescribed complete rest and that is what she enjoyed in the beautiful surrounds of Lochinver. The standard of the accomodation was five star-plus. I did manage to do some good walking, including the Kirkaig Falls and Achmelvich, as well as take my wife out for several trips in the car. We were impressed by the unspoilt nature of the area and how friendly everyone was. 9th - 16th June 2007 |
